Head Start

Our Head Start program supports the growth and development of children from birth to age 5, helping them prepare to succeed in school and life through learning experiences tailored to their needs.
Casa Ramón Alternatives Center is the first project in Puerto Rico specializing in providing housing and support services to young adults aged 18 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. Currently, Casa Ramón has locations in Juncos and San Juan and serves all 78 municipalities of Puerto Rico. Services include: a support hotline, crisis housing, rapid housing, legal support, social work services, a drop-in center, and laundry services.

CEDAIN

The Comprehensive Support Center for Children and Families is an evidence-based project that uses a two-generation approach to promote the social and economic mobility of families in the communities of Juncos, with an emphasis on families with young children in rural areas. It offers a wide range of services, including parenting skills workshops, visiting nurses, nutrition support, mental health services, arts, sports, cultural activities, job readiness training, and more.

2 Gen Center

With a multi-generational approach, the 2 Gen Center offers integrated services and resources to the entire family, including health orientations, nutrition, safety, referrals, parenting workshops, coordination of mental and behavioral health services, first aid, a virtual library, financial training modules for parents/caregivers, and support for economic sustainability.

Sala Educativa Las Negras (Community Library)

This technology access center in Juncos provides broadband internet and educational resources to low-income students. The center features broadband internet, technological equipment such as desktop computers, tablets, and laptops, as well as a reading area with books by Puerto Rican authors.

Community Kitchen

Initially developed in response to the COVID-19 emergency, our kitchen in Juncos serves 900 hot meals to children and their families. This initiative also provides food boxes to low-income families to address the imminent food insecurity they are experiencing. Additional boxes are distributed to 17 shelters for children and youth survivors of violence under state custody.

Youth Advocacy Academy

In this program for youth ages 16-18, we seek to empower their voices. Our participants learned about children’s rights and how to develop an action plan for their advocacy projects. They even developed bills that they submitted to the Puerto Rico Legislature!

Emergency Response

Our emergency response focuses on creating safe spaces for children, their families, and communities after natural disasters. Our goal is to provide them with access to protection, mental health services, education, recreation, and safe food. We have mobilized our team to respond to emergencies such as Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, the earthquakes in southern Puerto Rico in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic, and Hurricane Fiona in 2022, among other disasters.

Training and Technical Assistance Center (CATE in Spanish)

We provide training and support to government agencies, service providers, and other professionals in the public and private sector. Our training programs are based on evidence-informed practices and modules with a children’s rights perspective.

Casa Elizabeth provides safe housing, support, and services to women 18 to 30 years of age facing domestic abuse. Through offices in San Juan and Ponce, we support participants through the rehousing process using trauma-informed approaches that promote safety, stability, and long-term well-being.
